Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has something new up his sleeves.
The musician who recently got the country talking about his new track Kanta is currently in London where he is shooting a new music video for a yet to be released single Come to me .
The video being shot by Alexx Adjei, director for Sarkodie’s previous video, Take It Back, features an amazing yet unsung London-based singer Bobby Lewis.
The video is expected to drop in a couple of weeks.

Musician Okyeame Kwame born Kwame Nsiah Appau has revealed that he will never remix or make a song to promote a particular political party in the country.
The ‘rap dacta’ admits that there is nothing wrong with musicians making songs to promote the agenda of political parties; he believes Ghana is not rife for this.
According to him, politics in Ghana borders on tribal and sentimental grounds and therefore a musician risk tainting his career.
He added that to an extent an artiste risk losing a sizeable number of his or her fan base which cuts across various tribal and ethnic groups.
Speaking to Ultimate News‘ Fremah Boakye, the versatile musician advised ‘until people begin to be objective and detach sentiments from politics it is not advisable to make a song for a political party’
He further revealed that he being a ‘celebrated artiste’ will not accept any amount of money to make music for any party, saying he believes his fans must be united in diversity.
‘‘So the musician’s job is to produce music, using the current trends and produce content that people can use so that they can pay him, so if politicians want to use a musician as a conduit to reach a lot of people through the music I don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
When we come to Ghana, this is my personal thought, I don’t believe that in Ghana, a popular musician should do that, but its personal, because politics in Ghana borders on emotional, tribal lines, until we get to a point where people can vote for political parties because they have read their manifestoes, through their families, offices, jobs, things that they have done already in the public sector, shows or proves that they can lead a nation, and we go and vote for them, until we get to that point I don’t think a musician should do, because what is happening is that because it’s not on logical lines, but on sentimental grounds, if you are an artiste and you do a song for one party, then it’s like alienating 50% of your market , so you must decide if they are paying you well enough, that is why am saying I will not do it even for one zillion dollars, I need my fans to be united in diversity,’ he explained.

In 2015, Stonebwoy made history as the
first Ghanaian Dancehall act to win the
‘Best International Act: Africa’ award at
the Black Entertainment Television
(BET) Awards.
He tells Kenyan Newspaper Sunday Nation winning the
award “has thrown enough light on what I do, the style
of music I do: Afro beats, reggae, dancehall.”
He beat Nigerians Wizkid and Yemi Alade, South
Africans AKA and The Soil, Congolese Fally Ipupa and
Kenyan group Sauti Sol.
He adds: “I’ve got collaborations all across the continent
and some opportunities in the US. ”
The ‘Go Higher’ artiste was recently in Kenya recording
a session for the second season of the Coke Africa
Studio with Ethiopian act, Haile.
Unlike other artistes, Stonebwoy appreciates
nominations at awards schemes even if he does not
win.
“First of all, I am one artiste who appreciates nominations
even more because, if you’re five artistes picked from
thousands for an award that can only be won by one, the
joy is in being acknowledged. Then to hear my name
mentioned, I was like “Things have gone down well”
because people voted to show support; that they want
this person to win. They believed in my thing and they
cast their votes behind me.”
He will be performing this weekend at the One Africa
Music Festival at the Barclays Center, United States of
America.

Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah, has shared a shirtless
photo of himself on Facebook.
It is not clear if the photo was taken on the set of
Spiderman: Homecoming, which is said to be shooting.
The picture had garnered 10,000 likes, 157 shares and
210 comments as at the time of publishing this story.
Attah burst onto the movie scene with his portrayal of
a child soldier in Netflix’s Beasts of No Nation.
He has won several awards locally and internationally.

A vaccine against HIV will be trialled in
South Africa later this year after it met the
criteria needed to prove it could help fight
the epidemic in Africa.
2.1 million infections were reported in the
continent in 2015, two thirds of which
occurred in sub-Saharan Africa.
A small trial, known as HVTN100, initially
took place in South Africa in 2015 to test
the safety and strength of immunity the
vaccine could provide, ahead of any large-
scale testing in affected populations.
Two-hundred and fifty-two healthy
volunteers were enrolled to receive either
the vaccine, known as ALVAC-HIV/gp120,
or a placebo to compare the extent of
immune response generated. The results
were presented Tuesday at the 21st
International AIDS Conference in Durban,
South Africa.
“This was precautionary to see if the
vaccine looks promising,” CNN reports
Linda Gail Bekker, deputy director of the
Desmond Tutu HIV Centre in Cape Town,
South Africa, and president-elect of the
International AIDS Society, who is leading
the vaccine trials, as saying.
The vaccine stems from a landmark trial in
Thailand in 2009 that was the first to show
any protection against HIV, with 31%
protection against the virus. This was
enough to get experts in the field excited
after years with no success.
The vaccine was improved for use in the
higher-risk populations of sub-Saharan
Africa, where a different subtype of the
virus also exists.
5,400 people across four sites in South
Africa will receive the vaccine in November
and run for three years.
